About So Does Nails
So Does Nails is a San Francisco–based press-on nails studio born from a simple frustration: the most beautiful nail designs were locked behind salon appointments, long dry times, and prices that didn’t match the moment. We believed nail art should be something you reach for — not something you schedule.
So we built the alternative.
The Name
そうですね。
If you’ve spent time in Japan, you know this phrase. It means “yes, exactly” — a soft, unhurried agreement. An acknowledgment that something just feels right.
Our founder lived in Japan for over a decade. She carried that sensibility back with her: the Japanese eye for detail, the quiet pride in craft, the idea that even small, everyday things deserve to be made beautifully.
Sou desu ne — So Does Nails. The name is a nod to that feeling. The moment you find the right set and think: yes, exactly. This one.
Who We Are
We are a collective of five creatives — a photographer, an illustrator, two UI/UX designers, and a graphic designer. Different disciplines, one shared obsession: nail designs we want to wear, live in, and return to.
Every set we make starts with a feeling. A mood, a trend, a color that won’t leave our heads. We translate that into press-on nails that feel considered, effortless, and distinctly yours — designed with the same care we’d give any piece of art we’d actually wear.
What We Make
We design and produce four lines of press-on nails:
Essential — Clean, polished, and versatile. French tips, solid colors, and classic almond and coffin shapes that go with everything and last up to two weeks.
Atelier — Each set is hand-crafted with detailed nail art, from 3D embellishments and ombre gradients to delicate hand-painted designs. These are nails made to be noticed.
Signature — Each set features more intricate design, refined finishes, and premium detailing, with statement elements that set them apart. Crafted to feel rare while remaining ready to wear.
Bespoke — Created on request, designed exclusively for you. Each set is crafted as a one-of-one piece and shared publicly only with your consent.
Every detail — from the nail design to the sizing to the finish you wear — is created in-house, with intention.
